It feels like just yesterday that I was cleaning out backpack and lunch boxes and putting them away. Summer is almost over, and the children will begin to go back to school in as little as three weeks. So now what? Well, now you need to get into your car, drive to your local Wal Mart and start shopping for all the school supplies that are required for Ethe upcoming school year.
Many of the school websites post a list of required school supplies, broken down into each individual grade. You can never start your shopping for school supplies and clothing to early, as these items tend to become very expensive, especially if you have multiple kids in school, and even worse if you have teenagers.
We always start looking at the beginning of summer for backpacks because that is when the store always seems to put them on sale. We always buy a new pair of school shoes early when we find them on sale; online is a great place to find them. You can compare prices and styles online pretty easily, plus most places will ship them for pick-up to a retail outlet for free. Many stores are bringing back layaway programs to make it easier for parents to get what they needed and pay for it a little at a time over the course of the summer instead of all at once.
Unlike years ago, shopping at stores like Wal Mart for clothing is a great place to start. They carry high quality clothing and keep a stock of fashionable styles. So by shopping here you will save money on your back to school shopping spree and your children will love the clothing choices that are available.
Wherever you shop and whatever you purchase, it would be a good ideas if your purchased American made products. These products tend to me more durable, and they will also keep many men and women employed. Another thing to do, before shopping, is to check your schools website to see what donations they are requesting from parents, whether it be a box of crayons or some hand sanitizer, whatever you can help with will be greatly appreciated.
So in closing…Shop early, be budget wise, and be on the look out for back to school sales. Let the back to school frenzy begin!
