To prevent Windows Vista restat automatically after installing updates you should go to regedit.exe, open path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CWindowsUpdate\AU\ and create new DWORD 32 value NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers with value 1
